How Our New Email Routing Works
Concept: Routing traffic to bypass residential/business IP blocks while maintaining local data sovereignty.
Sending Path (Outbound):
- The IMAP client sends a message. Opening Synology MailPlus to the Internet intercepts the mail and tunnels it to the relay configured in Setting up AWS SES for Outbound Mail via Port 587 (TLS).
- AWS signs the payload and delivers it from a high-reputation Amazon IP.
Receiving Path (Inbound):
- An external reply queries the domain’s MX records.
- Traffic is directed to the local public IP. The router forwards Port 25 directly to the NAS, bypassing AWS entirely.
